Build a menu and use it in a BEO
The short answer
Open Menus under Tools, press New menu, add sections and items, choose a theme and whether to show prices, and press Save template. Export PDF gives a printable copy, and a BEO can import its items.
Build a menu
- Open Menus under Tools and press New menu. Name it under Menu title.
- Under Menu settings switch Show prices on or off and choose a Theme: Classic, Modern, Elegant or Minimal.
- Press Add section and name it, such as Appetizers. Press Add item and fill in the name, a price and a description. Mark each item Food or Beverage.
- Press Save template. A message says “Menu saved”.
- Press Export PDF for a printable copy. Save the menu first.
Using a menu
In a BEO, under Menu & catering, choose a menu in Import from Menu Template and press Import. The row menu on the Menus list has See it as a guest would, which opens a print view and needs a sign-in, and Delete menu.
What it does not do
- A menu item has a name, description, price and Food or Beverage. There are no dietary tags. On a BEO, dietary notes are a free-text column.
- A menu cannot be added to a proposal, a client portal or the client event link, even though the Menus page says it can be dropped into a proposal. Only a BEO can import it.
- The guest view is not a public link. It asks for a sign-in.
- Import brings in names and descriptions only.
