Amend a signed contract
The short answer
On a signed contract press Amend this contract, say what is changing and add any price changes. The client signs the amendment like a contract, and then an extra is invoiced or a credit comes off the booking price.
Write an amendment
- Open the event, press More, then Contracts. Under the signed contract press Amend this contract.
- In What is changing, say what changes, for example “the ceremony moves to the garden and we add 20 guests”.
- Optional: press Add a price change for each change in price. Enter a Description, a quantity and a unit price. Use a negative price for a credit. The dialog shows the change to the total.
- Press Create amendment. A new row appears under Amendments, titled “Amendment 1 to {contract}”, as a draft.
- Press Send, or Send with DocuSign. The client signs it on the same kind of page as a contract.
What happens when the client signs
A price increase creates an unpaid invoice for the change lines, due in 14 days. It is not emailed: find it in Money, Invoices and send it yourself. The event’s price is not raised, so the client is not charged twice. A price decrease lowers the event’s price, never below zero. A note without a price is just recorded.
What it does not do
- Only a signed original can be amended. You cannot amend an amendment: amend the original again.
- Only one amendment can be waiting (draft or sent) at a time.
- The text is generated from your note and lines. A change order with price lines cannot be edited: void it and write a new one.
- An amendment does not change the event’s date, guest count or other details. Edit the event separately.
- A credit on a booking that is already paid may mean a refund. MyVenueHQ does not refund: do it in Stripe or Square.
