Delete your account, a venue or a client

Plan: Free and Venue Who: Any signed-in person for their account. The venue owner for a venue. Checked against the app on

The short answer

Delete your account in Settings, Your account, Delete my account. It removes your sign-in, your profile and the venues you own alone. A venue can only be archived, not erased. Deleting a client removes only the client record.

Delete your account

  1. Open Settings, the Your account tab, and press Download your data first if you want a copy.
  2. Scroll to Delete my account and press Delete my account….
  3. Type your email address and your password. Leave the password empty if you never set one.
  4. Press Delete my account and data. You are signed out and sent to myvenuehq.com.

What is removed and what is kept

Removed: your sign-in, profile, sessions, your own workspace, your assistant chats, team chat messages you sent, and every venue you own, with everything in it. Work you did in a venue someone else owns stays with that venue. A paid plan is cancelled right away.

Kept: Stripe keeps payment records for tax and accounting. Database backups are overwritten on a schedule: 14 daily copies and 8 weekly ones, so up to about 8 weeks. You can also email hello@myvenuehq.com from your account address and we will do it within 30 days.

A venue, a client or a form

To remove a venue, open Settings, Name and address, and press Remove at the bottom, or use the Venues page. It is archived and billing changes straight away, and you can restore it from Venues. Nothing is deleted.

Deleting a client moves the client record to the Trash for 30 days. The same person’s name, email and phone stay on their events, inquiries, invoices, form submissions and tickets. There is no erase-this-person-everywhere tool. A single form submission cannot be deleted. Deleting the form deletes all its submissions at once, with no Trash.

Clients and guests who want their data removed should contact the venue first, because the venue controls its records.

What it does not do

  • Deleting your account is refused if you created a venue where other staff work: “Hand the venue over or remove them first, or email us.” The app has no hand-over, so email hello@myvenuehq.com.
  • Only the person who created a venue, while still an owner, can archive it. Archived venue data is kept until the account is deleted.
  • A venue cannot be permanently deleted from the app. Email us.
  • Five account-deletion tries an hour.
  • A deleted HQ chat is erased after 30 days, and a chat nobody wrote in for 12 months is erased.
  • There is no self-serve download of data for a venue’s clients or guests.
