Connect Stripe to take card payments
Open Settings, then Payment processing, and press Connect Stripe. You sign in on Stripe and approve MyVenueHQ. Card payments then settle into your own Stripe account. MyVenueHQ takes no fee on invoice payments.
Connect your Stripe account
- Open Settings, then Payment processing under Payments. The top line says whether you can take cards yet.
- Press Connect Stripe. The page moves to Stripe in the same window. Sign in to your Stripe account, or create one, and approve MyVenueHQ.
- Stripe returns you to MyVenueHQ. Open Payment processing again to read “Stripe connected. Card payments now go straight to your account.”
Where the money goes
Payments are made on your own Stripe account, so they settle with you, and your Stripe dashboard keeps the payouts, disputes and receipts settings. You can remove our access from your Stripe dashboard at any time. Stripe’s own fees apply, and MyVenueHQ does not state them. Your MyVenueHQ subscription is billed separately.
Disconnect
Press Disconnect Stripe on the same page. There is no confirmation step. Card payments stop until you connect again: “This venue cannot take card payments until you reconnect.”
What it does not do
- Managers and owners can connect. Others see “You need admin access on this venue to connect Stripe.”
- Clients pay by card only. There is no bank transfer, saved card or part payment through MyVenueHQ.
- One currency per venue: US dollars, euros, British pounds, Canadian dollars or Australian dollars. Change it in Settings, Name and address, Region and formats. Changing it relabels existing amounts and does not convert them.
- PayPal is not available for new venues, and a venue already on PayPal cannot take invoice payments.
- The Stripe pages (sign in, approve, card form) are Stripe’s. Their wording is not described here.
- A venue that stored a Stripe key by hand sees a notice. Connecting removes that key and keeps only an account reference.
