Create an event

Plan: Free (10 events a month) and Venue Who: Staff and above can create events. Checked against the app on

The short answer

Press New event on the Events screen, type a title, a start date and guests, and press Create event. Press More details for the client, room, package and tickets. The Free plan allows 10 events a month.

Create an event

  1. Open Events and press New event. You can also press the plus button in the left rail and choose Event or booking.
  2. Type the Event title, choose the Start date and enter Guests. The default is one day, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  3. Press More details for the rest: event type, description, location, Make this event public, start and end times, the client (type one or pick a saved contact), an assigned manager, Pipeline stage, priority, estimated amount, Venue/room and Package.
  4. Choose a pipeline stage: Lead, Quoted, Tentative booking or Confirmed.
  5. Tick Requires tickets to add ticket types at the same time.
  6. Press Create event. A message says “Event created”.

Other ways to start

On the Calendar, click a day, or the plus that appears when you hover over it, for a quick booking: a title, description, times, a customer and an amount. It makes a Lead with no room.

From an inquiry, press Convert to event. See Convert an inquiry to an event.

Under More details, Save as template saves the form as a template. A Start from template choice then appears on the next new event. A template fills only fields still at their starting value and never copies dates or the client.

A half-typed form is kept in the browser tab and comes back with Draft restored and Start over.

What it does not do

  • The window does not stop you booking a time that clashes in the same room. It refuses it with “Overlaps title, time. Pick another time or room.” Two events with no room both mean the whole venue.
  • The Free plan allows 10 events a month, counted by the day an event is created, not the day it happens. Inquiries do not count, and neither do past events brought in by an import.
  • Venue/room lists your layouts and appears only if you have at least one. Package appears only if you have a package.
  • Choosing Tentative booking as the stage sets the stage only. The event is stored as confirmed, so it gets no hold bar and no hold deadline. For a timed hold, convert an inquiry with Tentative, holding the date.
  • The Calendar quick booking has no stage, room or package field.
  • A closed date is refused with the reason. See Calendar and blocked dates.
  • The Events list and Today load the 200 events with the latest start dates. Search asks the server for older ones.

Common questions

Can I repeat or duplicate an event?

No. There are no recurring events and no duplicate button. Use a template for the same starting details.
